The case study

The story behind the frame

We produced How to Save a Life, a documentary built around Jeff M. Joaquin’s testimony. The film was shot in Tampa Bay with a grounded visual approach that lets the interviews lead. The interview was conducted by Gus Lloyd, whose years of on-air conversation in Catholic media helped draw out Jeff’s testimony with clarity and warmth.

The interviews were filmed and directed with people in the room. The editorial approach stayed simple on purpose: authenticity, clarity, and emotional honesty.

What happened after the film

The documentary has more than 12,000 views on YouTube and is also available to watch on Formed.org. After its release, the project helped support additional speaking opportunities for Jeff, including an invitation to serve as a keynote speaker at March for Life UK 2026.

What we focused on

  • Story-first documentary production shaped around testimony and clarity
  • Respectful cinematography and pacing that support a serious theme
  • A finished film Jeff can use in talks, outreach, and ongoing ministry

Result

A documentary that gives Jeff a lasting way to share his story — on screen, in speaking engagements, and with audiences far beyond the original release.
